Sean Miranda is a Director and Financial Advisor at Baird and holds three top industry designations, Certified Financial Planner®, Certified Private Wealth Advisor® and Qualified Plan Financial Consultant.  With over 25 years of industry experience, Sean works with families and businesses to build a successful wealth management path.

He uses this knowledge to simplify complex issues to the planning process and analyze the unique challenges high-net-worth individuals face.

Sean is dedicated to developing deep, long lasting professional relationships with the families we serve. He uses planning to meet the various needs of clients at all stages of life and brings confidence, objectivity, and transparency to the engagement. Sean leads the team in providing advice to business owners and advising on Retirement and Qualified Plans.

Sean is involved in many local organizations including Angles in Disguise, Assumption High School and St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. He is a past President of the Financial Planning Association of Kentuckiana, a member of the National Association of Plan Advisors, has written many articles for local and national publications on financial planning, and speaks to groups for financial literacy.

Sean and his wife Jackie have four (yes, FOUR!) amazing daughters. When they are not traveling between cheer competitions, field hockey games, dance classes, singing lessons and basketball games, they enjoy downtime at Nolin Lake. The entire family loves being in the outdoors and traveling.

Mac Thomas, CFP®, CPWA®

Mac Thomas is a Vice President and Financial Advisor at Baird, a company he has proudly called home for over eighteen years. Prior to co-founding the Miranda Thomas Group in 2019, Mac worked in our corporate office with leadership responsibilities over our branch offices. He also previously held roles in our investment products departments.

Mac is a Certified Financial Planner® and Certified Private Wealth Advisor®. He uses this knowledge to help clients create a well-thought-out financial plan and road map for their future. Mac also leads the team’s investment management, manager due diligence, and asset allocation processes.

As a lifelong Louisville resident, Mac enjoys maintaining ties to the community through a wide variety of organizations, networking groups, and family and friends. He graduated from Miami University with a BS in Finance in 2006. Outside the office, Mac enjoys running, reading, traveling, and exploring the outdoors with his family including his wife Justine and their two young children Henry and Josie.

Amy Sturm

Assistant Vice President, Senior Client Specialist

With over 19 years of operational experience, Amy Sturm serves as a Senior Client Specialist and Assistant Vice President at Baird. She plays a vital role in supporting the clients of The Miranda Thomas Group, handling everything from onboarding new relationships to managing estate settlements. Amy holds the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.

Amy is the cornerstone of the team—if anyone, including Mac or Sean, has a question, Amy has the answer. Her reliability and depth of knowledge make her an indispensable resource for both clients and colleagues. She provides high-touch support to clients and their families across a wide range of wealth management needs. In her day-to-day role, Amy coordinates account operations, facilitates asset transfers, and assists with complex estate and trust administration, including working closely with executors, trustees, and beneficiaries. She takes pride in guiding clients through detailed processes with clarity and care, ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and easy to understand. Known for her responsiveness and attention to detail, Amy partners closely with the team to deliver a seamless client experience while helping build and maintain long-term relationships.

Outside of work, Amy is an avid animal lover and volunteers with GRRAND (Golden Retriever Rescue and Adoption of Needy Dogs). She enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her family and her beloved cats, Mags and Elizabeth. Above all, she finds joy in autumn and a good cup of coffee.

Katelyn Shiver

Client Specialist

Katelyn joined the team as a summer intern in 2022 and returned in 2025 as a Client Specialist. A Louisville native and graduate of Assumption High School, she continued her academic and athletic career at Tennessee Technological University, where she was a collegiate soccer player. She earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and a Master of Business Administration. Katelyn also holds the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.

In her role, Katelyn works closely with Sean and Mac to implement financial plans, manage client data, and ensure accuracy across planning tools and documentation. She plays an integral part in keeping team operations running smoothly by coordinating scheduling, managing follow-ups, and supporting internal processes that allow the team to remain efficient and focused on delivering a high level of service.

Outside of work, Katelyn enjoys spending time with her husband, Tanner, relaxing at Nolin Lake, and exploring local coffee shops around Louisville.
